Towards Building Consensus

Vision Statement:

■A firm belief that open dialogue leads to an informed consensus.

■The quality and productivity of a dialogue is enhanced by the following ingredients:

1.Civility: as educated people, we are required to maintain a certain decorum in our discussions, alongside a spirit of tolerance for others’ views.

2.Flexibility: considering our own views to be final on any subject is being close minded. There can always be somebody else having better views. This requires that we discuss with an open mind, expressing our own views gracefully.

3.Logic: one must always think before speaking and organize one’s views in a manner that it is expressed with clarity.

4.Brevity: is a virtue. We should try to go straight to the point, in the shortest possible manner.
